Pro Triathlete Yvonne van Vlerken is the best kept secret in the sport, at least from a North American’s perspective.  She is Dutch and she lives and trains in Austria with her partner, Thomas Vonach, so we don’t hear a lot about her here in the US.  She isn’t in the magazines and she isn’t in the news here.  However, she is someone to watch in 2010."

Nobody could say it better than "This week in triathlon"-editor Jeff Trout. "Triathlete Magazine" did avoid her like devil the holy waters. "Slowtwitch" did set her up after Ironman 70.3 Geelong and never really gave her credits for the historic performances Yvonne is producing every season.
She has been going her way and swallowed set-backs and came back even stronger. A lot don´t realise that, unstopping, she has a fast-growing fan-group all over the world as being part of a small history-writing group of extra-ordinary female athletes.
